A statewide alliance dedicated to supporting science educators by identifying exemplary teachers, building mentorship networks, and creating leadership pathways.
Through a hub-based network of educators, institutions, and organizations, the initiative strengthens connections across Georgia’s science teaching community to enhance instruction and student outcomes.
Process:
I began with iterating on a list of key ideas and iconography of GA ESTEEM’s mission, including researching moleculure structure, science iconography, and connective symbols to relate back to the goals of the alliance. Next, I sketched shapes and structures and also landed on a simple and academic font that still felt geometric.
Next, I experimented with visual concepts (left document), and landed on logos to present (right document).
Product:
We landed on a hexagonal chemistry shape that communicates molecules, with a 3-pronged atom inside (that also was stylized as people to represent both teachers, the 3 hubs connected to the center, and a network of connectivity through the ammonia molecule structure).
The stylized teacher figures turned and overlapped in the centercreated a “star” shape, also communicating energy and impact.
